Twips

Sometimes I hate working with computers. Sometimes I love it.

Today I have been delving into the mysterious chasm that is Microsoft's RTF specification (not a task I would recommend or wish on my worst enemy). One interesting passage that caught my eye was this:

"N is the width in twips of the pen used to draw the paragraph border line"

Fair enough.

After a quick Google search I found out that a twip is 1/1440 of an inch. Very useful indeed.

Java/OpenGL Demo

I set out to create an OpenGL demo using Java earlier this year. It has taken me ages to actually get around to making a release of it though! I have used Advanced Installer to create a setup installer for it which is nice and hopefully everything needed by the user is bundled with the software.

You do need to have a java virtual machine installed on your computer however!

The demo is here to download. I have now added it to my projects section as well.

Stag Do

Hey everyone,

Yesterday it was exaclty 100 days until our wedding! Things are going well, the printers have been a bit of a pain for the invitations but all things considered we should be sending out proper invites sometime after this weekend.

Also, I have sent out an invite to some people (those I have email addresses for!) about the stag do. I am thinking of The Comedy Store in Leicester Square, London on Saturday 15th April (we will be in England for Easter this year).

The Comedy Store

If I didn't send an email and you want to come, please let me know so that I can get on and arrange tickets, they are only 15 quid a go. We will go to the club and then have dinner, or vice versa, it should be a great night out...

Interpay

I am working back at Interpay again for a new project. This project is nothing to do with the ChipKnip (Dutch Chip and PIN) that I worked on before, but instead I am testing a new ATM machine. It's quite a bit different to what I normally do, I have never done a testing project. Working at Interpay is great for me, the building is only 10-15 minutes away, so I can take the tram or cycle and visit the shops on the way home! I have been able to leave the flat much later than normal and I am home much sooner than normal, so things are going quite well at the moment!

In other news, we have nearly sorted out or wedding invitations. Miki has been really busy getting in touch with all the wedding people involved. Go team!

I was also off from work with the flu for a few days, I think it was the bird flu, I felt a craving for eggs...
